DANIEL Craig is set to become the first-ever ­billion dollar James Bond. The 44-year-old Brit actor’s spy movie Skyfall will soon gross £100million in Britain alone.

From bottles of Heineken to speeding BMWs, recent James Bond films have become notorious for their product placement. In the spy’s latest outing, however, it begins long before the opening credits.

Skyfall has taken more in its opening weekend at the British box office than any previous James Bond film, say producers. Starring Daniel Craig as 007 for a third time, Skyfall has made £20.1 million ($32.2 million, 25.0 million euros) in Britain and Ireland since opening in both countries on Friday, according to a statement on its website.

Though our neighbours across the pond get to see Skyfall in theaters two weeks earlier than we get it in North America, those stateside will still be given the opportunity to catch James Bond’s latest adventure a tad earlier than some, as it’s been announced through Twitter that the film will open one day early, exclusively on IMAX screens.

Skyfall is only about a month away from release and the studio wants to make sure you’re well-aware of it. We’ve already seen some amazing trailers and multiple imagesfrom the latest James Bond film, but now we have even more to heap onto the pile.

The creative partnership at the heart of Skyfall was forged, fittingly, over a drink. The late Ian Fleming, bon vivant and author of the 12 Bond novels and two collections of short stories, would doubtless have approved. Daniel Craig was chatting to director Sam Mendes at a party when the idea came to him that his old friend and colleague – they had first worked together on Road To Perdition in 2002 – would be perfect to direct the 23rd movie in the hugely successful James Bond franchise.

On this day 50 years ago, James Bond became a movie star. The British superspy first hit the big screen on Oct. 5, 1962, when “Dr. No” opened in theaters, introducing Ian Fleming’s suave 007 to the masses.

The James Bond theme song Adele has recorded for the new 007 movie Skyfall has been leaked online. The official song, also called Skyfall, was scheduled to premiere on the singer’s website on October 5, which has been declared Global James Bond Day.
